Quite often though, I’ll end up finding a boat owner who asks for my help with selling their vessel. I don’t take any listings myself, but I can definitely help find a qualified brokerage to market and sell a boat in BC.
There are a lot of factors involved in listing a boat, and truthfully no single brokerage is an ideal fit for every boat or every boat owner. Geography is an obvious factor – a broker needs to be able to accommodate short-notice viewings or inspections. Another big factor is the brokerage’s client-base… most brokers have a dozen people eager to view a specific make or model the moment a listing comes up. Lots of other variables can affect brokerage suitability, so it’s totally understandable when people have trouble finding a good match.
I collaborate with many different brokers and brokerages to find the right fit for a sales listing that comes my way. My broker relationships span not only Vancouver and the Salish Sea, but worldwide. It doesn’t matter if your boat is in Campbell River or Bocas del Toro – there’s a listing broker that I can connect you with!
After finding an agency to list with I work with that brokerage to ensure they have a full understanding of the needs and expectations of the boat owner. The brokerage will prepare and present a marketing plan for the seller to consider, and if everything looks good the boat will hit the market.
